Much Love!

Hello friends,

I am sharing a fun slider card which I made for my DT post for Jane's blog. I have used Life is Good & Seamus stampset and hearts from various other sets.

I love the Life is good stampset. It is so versatile. I made a little garden in a jar using it before...you can check it HERE!

And, here is today's card!

Here is the video to see the sliding hearts.

I wanted to give that transparent effect to the jar so I have use acetate .
Here is the step by step pictorial.

Take 2 white card stock (bielo) panels measuring 4.5 X 6.5 inches and a 4x3.5 inches piece of acetate.
Stamp the jar using MISTI in exact same position on both the panel with memento tuxedo black ink. On acetate stamp the jar with archival - jet black ink.
Cut out a window (inner part of jar) form second panel.

Cut the slider channel using MFT's surf and turf die . Adhere the acetate on the back of the second panel (with window) . Aline well so the outline of jar matches the one on acetate. Now cut the channel in same place on acetate too.

Now comes the slider part. You need some kind of thick disc like this one by MFT  . But unfortunately, It was always out of stock whenever I ordered from MFT.

My crafting buddy Paru Mahtani sent me these wooden beads to use for the same purpose. You can check her blog HERE! She is an amazing crafter and a kind soul!

They are so lightweight and easy to glue and best part is they are very affordable. I am so thankful to her. To make sliding element, take a slightly wider circle die cut than the channel , glue the bead on it,insert the beads from the back into the channel, glue the hearts on beads.

Stamp various hearts in the jar ( on first panel) and in a corner of second panel with matching inks as your heart diecuts. Glue the second panel on top of first using foam tape to give space for hearts to slide.

Added some golden splatter, sentiment and metal embellishment to finish off the card.

That is all for today! Hope you will enjoy the process and tips. See you soon!

Reunion with MFT

Hey friends,

Few days back, we had a reunion of our classmates (M.Sc. - Microbiology). We all were meeting after 26 years! One of our friend initiated this meet and I am so glad she did! We had some crazily awesome time recalling all the old memories and making new ones. We all have added gray to the hair but after few laughs we were all 20 again! A trip to nostalgia just rejuvenated our spirit!

Check some of the Microbs...:P

turned MEGA........

Now, coming to the card, I used MFT stamps and dies. We all signed it and gave it to the friend who hosted this meet.

Needless to say... I love this stamp set and dies!
That is all for today! I will be back tomorrow with a Christmas card...:)

2016- Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop #1

It started today! My most favorite blog hop and theme !
I am sharing my first card which I made for my hubby's colleague, who is retiring soon.

They says "Retirement is life's way of giving you a second chance to turn over a new leaf." It is the end of something which was there for a long and beginning of a brand new  journey, just like fall!

This is a big card (5.5 x 7.5 inches). I have used lots of MFT products. Sentiment and die cut is from PTI. I wanted to say read, travel a lot and relax . I hope it conveys that.

Here is the close up

Thank you for stopping by. See you tomorrow with another coffee card!

Roses all over!

Hi Friends,

I am here to share a card I made using My Favorite things - Background stamp - Roses all over. I wanted this stamp since very long but it was out of stock everywhere. And then I found it on Butterflyreflectionsink.3dcartstores.com while I was placing order for other stuff. I love, love, love their collection - a great mix of products. They keep all the latest releases of major brands and offer discounts quite often.  And super sweet Vanessa & her customer service is a bonus....:) !

So here is the card.

I have embossed the background in gold and colored with mission gold water colors. Sentiment die is by PTI. Both the white panes are mounted on craft foam to give dimension. Added some splatter to tie the whole look.

Close Up:

Hope you like it. Have a great weekend. See you soon with two more cards which I just finished...:)

NBUS #5

Hi Friends,

Today's card is made specially for Darnell's  NBUS (Never before used schtuff) Challange # 5.

She is the sweetest crafter I have ever known and a gem of a person. I love to read her posts. So here is to you Darnell.

My NBUS is that bricks embossing folder by spellbinder. I don't even remember when I bought it. Bulb die is by MFT, word die is by PTI and stitched rectangle is by SSS. I inked the embossing folder lightly before running through Big Shot to define the grout.

Hope you will like my card. Hugs.

Light up my life!

Hi friends,

It is a quick post. I made a card inspired by Taheerah's Cure For Monday Blues Challenge #46.
Yes, I just had to play along as those are my favourite colours and all the graphic elements from inspiration picture were calling me....:)

Inspiration photo.

Isn't that gorgeous? So many possibilities...!

My take on it:

I was inspired by colors and that light bulb in the corner.
I first stamped black stripes with clearly besotted -  Basic Stripes. Cut a grey card stock with simon says stitched die and trimmed the bottom to an angle to give little attitude to it!. The bulb die is MFT inked with distress ink.

Entering for the challenge.

Try to play along if you haven't done yet!
Bye for now... see you soon!

Spectacular 2015!

Hi friends,

Happy New year! It feels like forever since my last post. I got so busy with friends and get-togethers. Apart from that I am working on a tall order of  wedding invites so time is just flying.

Today, I am sharing a card (with tutorial) which showcase masking - to give dimension & depth in a single layer card.

I bought this mft stamp because I love those sentiments. But the images of spectacles are too small (as my cards are 5" x 7") to use it as focal point. So I used this stamp from Hot Off the Press too.

1. On the card base, position the round die & stamp to decide how you want to lay them.

2. Take a copy paper as big as your card front. Draw a circle with the help of die at desired position.    Tear the paper by hand to cut out the circle.( you can cut it with die too but i love that deckle edge)

3. Use the negative to mask the base and stamp those spectacles with two different shades of grey.

4. Remove the negative mask. Cover the stamped area with cut-out circle - positive mask and apply chalk over the edges to define it. This will give an instant pop &  dimension to the stamped portion.

5. Stamp the bigger image in black & add sentiment.
6. I wanted to add something on the bottom. I decided to use Simonsays this stamp as it has similar fonts as mft. Mask the bottom with torn paper & stamp few words. Apply chalk.

7. I made another card too. In this I made a mask of big spectacle by stamping and fussy cutting from copy paper. Lay that mask under the negative circle mask before stamping. This will push focal point in front giving  more depth to the background.

Hope you enjoyed reading it and will give it a try.
