I love math challenge #12

Hello Crafty Math loving friends,

It is time for another I Love Math Challenge. We are on the 12th challenge already! We never knew we would come this far when we started. Thanks to all the participants who kept on playing. And big thanks to Milka who is the organizer of it. If you are new to this, you can check Milka's post HERE to know our design team and rules.

For today's challenge, the math part is geometrical shape/shapes and theme is Birthday ! I have selected the circle shape to go with my sentiment die.

Yes, it is a very simple design but those colors gives an instant lift to the over all look. I have used
CrafTangles' liquid water colors . Aren't they gorgeous!!! Please stay tuned as I am doing a blogpost reviewing them.

Please visit Milka's blog for more details & to link up your project. One lucky winner gets a Jane's Doodle's stamp set.

Thank you so much for being here on my blog. I hope you get some time to play along the challenge. Have a wonderful day!

Dragonfly wishes

I am sharing two cards which I made using the stamp sets by Crafter's Companion called Flying Dragonflies and Wishes set by Pink & Main . Both are Mini hence pocket friendly & I have showcased how easily you can create different looking cards with the same stamps. Flying dragon flies is a single red rubber stamp. I trimmed it and separated both dragonflies for the ease of stamping. Do not afraid to cut your stamps, just be careful while doing so.

For the first card, I stamped the sentiment on Tim Holtz Water color card stock  using Black archival ink and Dragonflies with coffee archival ink. I used archival inks as they are water proof. Colored each dragonfly with different shades of distress inks. I mounted the water color card panel on 4.25x5.5inches top folded card.

For the second card, I embossed the large dragon fly on Let'z craft vellum using versamark & Ranger white embossing powder. I fussy cut the fly and used green copic on the back of the wings to give little bit of color.

I used  moss green card stock for the base on which I splattered some papericious white chalk paint . I love to use chalk paints for splatters on cs as they are quite thick and opaque. I also use a small, wonky panel of gaza grey cs. Initially i stamped large wishes stamp from pink & main set in grey on this panel but after a while the stamping became invisible as i had used very light ink so I stamped it using black archival ink across the panel. I also embossed small birthday from the same set on a stripe of white cs.

So it is easy to create two totally different looking cards using the same stamps if you think and plan. While shopping for supplies, always look for the versatility of stamps, how many ways you can use it, how it goes with your existing supply etc. That way you can get the maximum worth of your money! Be smart, save some & create more...:)
Happy Crafting, gals! See you soon!

Jane's Doodles

Hello Friends! Today I am sharing a card I made using Jane's Doodles - Pretty Peonies stamp. Super cool stamp. I also used Laura's card  for inspiration.

I stamped those gorgeous flowers with versamark and embossed them with liquid platinum embossing powder. I use spun sugar, spiced marmalade and tattered rose distress inks for colouring those beauties. Split the panel with MFT - wave border die. Added PTI sentiment from the back. I also cut the bottom part of the panel with same die but at different angle and added two wavy border.
I stamped the base of the card with Clearly besotted stripe stamp in some grey ink. Last i added that 'wishing' die cut ( sss die) .

That is all for now.... keep crafting & sharing. Hugs!

Creative Blog Hop

Hey Friends,

First of all, thanks to Smita Satish for nominating me for this blog hop and my apologies to her too as I am very late in posting this post. Looks like I am very late and all creative people are already tagged so can't think of anyone who is not tagged. Let me know if you want to get tagged by me. I will add your name in this post.

So here I go......

1. What are you working on right now?

I just finished a card which involves DIY embossing with metal charm. I made it for

2. How does your work differ from others in your genre?

The neatness and execution of my thought process  are two things which make them different.

3. Why do you create what you do?

I make cards and stuff because I love it. It is a pure passion and my high-way to happiness. It gives me that inner peace and keeps me sane.

4. How does your creative process work?

I generally don't plan much. I allow my thoughts to take their own shape. I just help them to express by selecting proper supply like stamps, colours, establishments etc.

I did some posts(as a guest DT) about how I think about my designs.
You can check them here and here  to know more about my though process.

Here is the card...

Virginia said...be creative... and I remembered doing this here before. Please check it there are more experiments I did with DIY embossing. I did not have blog that time so used to post everything on my fb page Periwinkle Creations.

Supply :

I use a very sturdy metal charm which can stand pressure of big shot. I use brown embossing pad, thick cs and charm to get impression. Cover the raised part with versamark and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Apply some water and distress ink to colour de-bossed part...the clear ebossing will resist the colours. I splatter different pigment ink reinkers with tooth brush and heat emboss them with clear powder to create that multi colour panel.

I also experimented with wrapping a thin metal wire around an old credit card and using it for embossing.

Hope you will also try some other materials to emboss. If you do please share...would love to see it!

Linking this card for Virginia's challenge.

Hope you enjoyed the post.

First post

This is my first post. I have created a birthday card using Wplus9 Pretty Peonies stamp set. My white base card is 5"x7".  I took a piece of aqua cardstock, positioned on base card and trimed. I took medium detail stamp form the set and stamped with aquamarine archival dye ink by ranger. I used same stamp with pistachio pigment ink(colorbox) and stamp once again over the aqua flowers. Added centres with dandelion yellow (memento). On aqua cardstock i used outline leaves cluster from the same set, stamped with versamark & embossed with white embossing powder. The leaves are colored with shades of green distress inks. On a pistagreen scrap piece i stamped largest outlined peony, embossed with white powder and colored with same green distress inks & fussy cut it. Aqua piece is glued on white card base while flower is popped on foam tape. Sentiment (Papertreyink) is white embossed on a black paper & popped with foam tape.
