Hello Crafty Friends,

How have you been? I hope you all are creating something beautiful.

Today, I have a set of cards made using Altenew -Floral Shadow stamp set on Let'z Craft blog.

I created inky backdrop using Minty Mint and Dew drops ink pads. This is my favorite way to add color to the background. You can check the video of same technique  HERE. Let the background dry. Emboss few flowers using versamark ink and Altenew - Rose Gold Embossing powder . I love the peachy shimmery floral on that minty background. Stamp some leaves using Fresh leaf and ocean wave inks. On a piece of paper, I created similar background and stamped the sentiment. I added a frame (lawn fawn mini picture frame die) around it to highlight the sentiment.
Here is the colse up.

I wish you can see that in person! That shimmer is amazing!
For the second one, I embossed florals in white on a piece of printed vellum.

I backed the velum with slightly broader dark grey cs which gives nice contrast to the stamped images. I mounted the panel on light grey card base, Stamped few branches at the bottom of the card and finished it off by stamping the sentiment in black.

Last one is my favorite.

I have used various Altenew Inks   and MISTI for stamping. You will need two shades of each ink for flowers and leaves. I used these ink daubers by Tsukineko   to ink the stamps. these are very useful when you have very small are a to ink or stencil. Yocan do selective inking on a large stamp. First, I inked the solid flowers in lighter shade of blue and stamped. I used same ink to ink outer edges and stamp it again on the same spot using misti. For the 3rd and last alyer I used ear bud to ink edges of the flowers with darker blue ink. Such inking helps to create depth in a flat, solid images. Same way, I stamped leaves using 2 shades of greenish blue. Added sentiment and details in the flower centers using marker and some glitter. Mounted the panel on black striped pattern paper. I also added some gold accent cut from DCWV glitter cs!

There is so much more you can do with this solid stamps. I will be covering few in my next post. So stay tuned and keep crafting.
Thank you for being here.

Copics on x-press it blending paper

Hello friends,

How are you? I am here after a long time. Instagram is taking over my blog posts. Do you feel the same? All the time I remind myself to write a blog post instead of just posting on fb or insta but I come up with one or other excuse to not to do so, every-time! But not today...:)

I am here to share my experience( first impression) of using x-press blending card for copics. Some time back Roopali Chawla of Allthingscraft.com  got this paper & i was excited to try. She was kind enough to send few ca along with lots of other goodies. Thank you Roopali for being so generous!

I have made a card using 'Good Vibes' stamp set by Your Next Stamp.

The Toucan is stamped on x-press card and colored with copics. It was a quick try to use it. I am sure going to work more with this paper. The inks blend beautifully on it. and it retains the texture marks well at the same time. See the blending around eye and neck while the tone on tone texture in dark grey/black part, the red to orange gradation on beak and patchy colors.

Blending is almost effortless and the best part i loved about it is when you add light shade on dark it does not create blooms which is most common issue for me with other  card stock. And it is thinner paper so you can easily put it through the printer for digital stamp printing!
I will be back with more on this paper.

I also try to stamp on it as I wanted to use this build a flower, rose stamp by Altenew which Roopali got for me on pre-order.

It works beautifully with this layered stamps and various inks. I have used lawn fawn, altenew & mft inks for this one. The ink stays put on card once stamped so layers are distinct and crisp.

check the sharpness in close up!

One more with the same stamp. For the rose and leaves I have used Neenah solar- 80gsm!

Roopali also sent me the full sticky post it notes for masking! I love this product and have been using for past 2 years. The best way to create mask. Check how simple it was to cut it with die and mask and stamp the small flowers.

I save the masks along with my stamp set to use it in future.

I hope you like the post and give this paper a try! Thank you for being here! Have a great day! Hugs!
