2016- Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop #1

It started today! My most favorite blog hop and theme !
I am sharing my first card which I made for my hubby's colleague, who is retiring soon.

They says "Retirement is life's way of giving you a second chance to turn over a new leaf." It is the end of something which was there for a long and beginning of a brand new  journey, just like fall!

This is a big card (5.5 x 7.5 inches). I have used lots of MFT products. Sentiment and die cut is from PTI. I wanted to say read, travel a lot and relax . I hope it conveys that.

Here is the close up

Thank you for stopping by. See you tomorrow with another coffee card!

Jane's Doodles - Rain or shine

Hello Friends,

I hope you all are doing good and enjoying the winter weather. But my friends in Chennai are having rough time. They were hit by the highest rainfall of the century! The whole city just submerged for days. Water logging and intermittent episodes of more rain is adding to their agony.

Today's card is for all my Chennai friends who need little sunshine right now! Sending them lots of love and prayers and wishing them blue skies and sunny days!

I have used Jane's Doodles new release stamp Rain or Shine !

I took a panel of sky blue card stock. I stamped it with text background and applied gesso randomly to soften the colour and text and allow it to merge in background. I also stamped fence form Jane's Double Trouble set. I die-cut clouds with PTI die and mount the panel with foam tape to give dimension. I adhere those sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh  to create a faux shaker look.
( I have a confession - till now I was being cheap an using locally available sequins. But a month back I got a chance to buy these PPP sequins and boy oh boy... how sparkly they are! They immediately lift your card a notch higher! Love it!)
The images are coloured with copic, sun and umbrella are fussy cut, sending is from Simonsays stamp and sunshine is PTI die.

That's all for today! I will be back with something other than card...:) ! Stay tuned and keep crafting!

Hugs!

NBUS #5

Hi Friends,

Today's card is made specially for Darnell's  NBUS (Never before used schtuff) Challange # 5.

She is the sweetest crafter I have ever known and a gem of a person. I love to read her posts. So here is to you Darnell.

My NBUS is that bricks embossing folder by spellbinder. I don't even remember when I bought it. Bulb die is by MFT, word die is by PTI and stitched rectangle is by SSS. I inked the embossing folder lightly before running through Big Shot to define the grout.

Hope you will like my card. Hugs.

PPP water color blog hop

Hi there,

My second entry for pretty pink posh water color blog hop.

I have embossed Mamaelephant Trifecta stamp in white and added various Ken Oliver Color Burst pigments in different triangles. Sentiment is by PTI.

Linking it to

I want to enter one more time in this ...so see you soon with another water color card.

Color burst for water color blog hop

Hello friends,

Today, I am trying  Ken Oliver's Color Burst pigments. These are powder pigments which gets activated when come in contact with water. They are very concentrated and very vibrant. Sprinkle little bit of powder on paper & spritz it with water and just see the magic happen... colors come alive. I am absolutely in love with these little bottles of HAPPY.

I made background panel with Pathalo Green & Ultramarine Blue. Gorgeous gorgeous colours. Diecut the word with Lil inker die and mount the negative with foam tape on white card base. Sentiment is made with Dymo label maker. I also added a strip of washi tape under it.

I am entering this for Water Color Blog Hop hosted by Pretty Pink Posh.

See you soon with more of these happy colours.

RIC #84

Hello Friends,

It's been a long since i played along any challenge so today, I decided to play along one of my favourite -  Runway Inspired Challenge. The designer picture is form Custo Barcelona - Fall 2015 collection. It has this geometric elements going on and i couldn't resist it.

Here is my take on inspiration.

I have used Reverse Confetti Paper Crane stamp set to make my cranes. The set has similar sentiment but unfortunately I have lost that particular stamp...:( . So I used this sentiment  by PTI.  Cranes are coloured with tombow markers.

Circular texture is made with embossing paste+tea dye distress ink & Memory-box radio wave stencil. Once it was dry, I applied perfect pearl and water to depict the shimmer of the beige top of model.

Entering it for the RIC #84 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. Keep crafting.

Crazy Birds - Tim Holtz

Hi friends,

Today, I am sharing few cards made using Tim Holtz - Bird Crazy stamp set. I was waiting to get it since CHA. It is an adorable, quirky set of images. I love the most is the expressions on their faces. In my cards I tried to give words to their expressions... and it is so much fun... it cracks me up every time i look at them.

Here goes the first one...

Simple colouring & mamaelephant sentiments...just goes so well!

Second card:

Isn't this funny? 'BFF' is a Jane's Doodle stamp and the other is Wplus9...just added 'Ya' to sync everything.

Third one :

I designed this card around that Papertrey ink sentiment. To highlight the contrasts of regular and some one different, I used black die cut of a bird representing regular, general, normal bird against that crazy, colourful , different bird.

Last one :

Love...love...love this one. Verve stamp sentiment goes so well with this kind of old - nerdy bird.

That's all for today....!

See you soon!

Jane's Doodles

Hello Friends! Today I am sharing a card I made using Jane's Doodles - Pretty Peonies stamp. Super cool stamp. I also used Laura's card  for inspiration.

I stamped those gorgeous flowers with versamark and embossed them with liquid platinum embossing powder. I use spun sugar, spiced marmalade and tattered rose distress inks for colouring those beauties. Split the panel with MFT - wave border die. Added PTI sentiment from the back. I also cut the bottom part of the panel with same die but at different angle and added two wavy border.
I stamped the base of the card with Clearly besotted stripe stamp in some grey ink. Last i added that 'wishing' die cut ( sss die) .

That is all for now.... keep crafting & sharing. Hugs!

Runway Inspired challenge#79 - Oscars Red Carpet

Hey there,

There are so many fabulous challenges going on and I needed a best wishes card for a girl who is appearing for her exams. I took inspiration for the following picture - Runway Inspired Challenge#79

My Take on this :

I was inspired by that partition with triangles, that peach-ish glow of light in the back ground and that gold gilded Oscar trophy.

I created a pech water color background with distress inks( to mimic the glow of light ), allowed it to dry, stamped tiny circles with versamark & embossed with Liquid platinum (inspired by the dress). I punched out several triangles and cut out hearts with a tiny die, added wink of stell & mounted with foam tape to give that sort of hanging effect(like triangles in pic). Die cut 'shine' from foil paper using PTI die. Added a strip of burgandy and mounted the whole panel on a peach card base.

The picture is not so good...i always have a problem when there is this foil paper on the card.
Close up:

Hope this gives a better view.

The supply used.

I am also entering this card for Tahherah's Cure for the Monday blues #45

I think the foil diecut, peachy colour and circles reflect many elements from inspiration picture.

That is all for now...stay tuned... some embossing experiments are coming soon...:)

doodle flowers

Hello friends,

I am super excited today. I got Jane's doodles stamps sometime back. I wanted to use them so desperately but for one or other reason I wasn't able to do so. Finally, I made some cards using one set "Doodle Flower". I am in love with them...totally. Quality wise they are in the top category plus i like Jane's way of putting a whole set together. There are variation in sizes of images - which is very much necessary- paired with very thoughtful sentiments. On top of all they are hand drawn. All these make me a happy...very happy stamper...:)

I have tried to create few different looks using the same set. Hope i have succeeded.

For the first card,I stamped flowers few times (with masking) and coloured them with tombow markers. Images have a thick outline so they give even stamping and makes colouring little easier.

For second card, I embossed bunch of flowers in white on a sky blue cs. I used Dusty Concord distress ink and lots of water to colour them. Splatters on the white base are made with the same ink. Die cut and stamped sentiments are from papertrey ink. I finished it off by adding velum die cut with papertrey ink die.

Close Up :

I wanted to make a single layer card with  paper piecing so started with masking area with washi tape for sentiment. But I messed up while removing masking so ended up using strip of same paper with sentiment. All the colored parts are paper piecing. Simply love it.

Close Up :

This one was the easiest one. Stamped flowers and leaves randomly and  loosely coloured them with Koi Water colours. Sentiment is from Papertrey ink, embossed in black on clear acetate.

For the last card, I stamped one of the steam multiple times with versamark and embossed them with various metallic embossing powder. Added some circles with enamel dots and finished it off by adding 'enjoy' die cut.

Hope I was able to express my love for this beautiful stamp set.

That's all for now. Happy Crafting!
