Jane's Doodles Blog Hop

 Hello friends,

I am so excited to share this post, today! We are celebrating the release of 3 new stamp sets by Jane's Doodles - Hope, Road trip and Old id Gold. Post covid, getting my stamps is a huge problem. It is taking more than a month to receive them. So many a times I have to use digital version which is not that fun. But today, I tried foiling with the printed images. After a long time, I made quite a few cards in one stretch.

 

Let's start with the Old is Gold. This is such a fun stamp and love those sentiments. Here is my card.

The card is totally inspired by a quote I saw online. "Big or small, bold or italics ...you are my type."  I used various alphabet dies to form the words. Typewriter is printed and gold foiled using laminator. 

Isn't it gorgeous? The set is so well designed!

Next few cards use Hope stamp set. I love the cluster of flowers in it. It is well sized to color. 

Once again, I went with the foiling. I printed it on some colored card stocks and foiled it. I kept it simple to let the foiling shine.

That cluster of flowers is so pretty that I couldn't resist myself and made 3 more cards...:)

I tried Yana Smakula's coloring technique for that red rose. 

That is all for today. I so wanted to use Roadtrip set but I will wait for the physical stamp to arrive. I hope you like the cards I made and feel inspired.

Jane's Doodles blog hop

It is a beautiful set with 3 sloths and  some amazing sentiments.  I printed the images, colored with copics and fussy cut them out. I used a piece of acetate, some distress inks and water to create the background .

I Love Math Challenge #16

Hello Friends,

How are you all doing in these tough times of pandemic? I will be honest, I am having trouble focusing on anything. Anxiety got me a bit, i guess. I am trying with yoga & reading and stuff but I want my mojo back. I hope you all are in better spot than me. I hope we all heal soon from the current situation.

Let's see my card.

I have made a simple card. On water color paper i painted sky and water and a bit of sand with water color. I kept it in mind not to paint beyond 1/3 part. Stamps are for one of the monthly kit by Heroarts.

Blog hop - Jane's doodles

Hello friends,

 How are you all doing? We all are going through some really tough time. We have total lock-down for 3 weeks. We are half way there. While I try to create and keep myself occupied, that feeling of uncertainty is always there at the back of mind. I simply can't concentrate in this new norm. Let's hope we get back to our routine pretty soon.  

Let's try to cheer ourselves up. We @jane's doodles have a blog hop for you. There are 2 new stamp sets Tulips & Spring Icons, released recently. I love the idea of Tulips set. The flowers, stem and leaves are separate stamps which gives you flexibility to make your own bouquet bu masking and stamping. 

  

     

I have used Tulip set for today's card. I stamped multiple of each images on water color card stock with light ink as I was going for no line water coloring. I used Mission Gold water colors and faber castell pencils for adding details. It took me a while to build those layers but the result is worth the efforts. I fussy cut all the images and arranged them on a ink blended panel.  

Sentiment is from Doodle Butterflies. I finished it off by adding few clear dew drops.

Pinkfresh Studio - Guest post

Hi friends,

I am super thrilled to be on Pinkfresh Studio blog as their July guest designer. I have made few cards, tags and a tea light luminary!

First two cards focus on folk hummingbird stamp set.

I stamped the floral branch 3 times and embossed in silver. I colored them with copics and die cut them using co-ordinating die.

 I used Fancy Floral2 die from my stash to cut a white panel which was mounted on a white card base. This adds texture and interest to the background. I cut up floral diecuts in few pieces for the ease of arranging them nicely. 

The sentiment is cut from a glitter cardstock with Classic Words Die . Lots of white, dashes of color, little silver and golden glitter give lots of elegance to this cad. This will make a perfect wedding card, I think!

For second card, I emphasized on that beautiful hummingbird! 

I stamped and colored images with copics. I die cut the bird with matching die and floral in a circle.  I took a grey panel and added some die cut texture using one of the elements from Classic Tags Die Set. I mounted the panel on a white card base with liquid glue and used glue dots to adhere other elements. Few enamel dots and it is done. 

Check out the colors on that humming bird!

For next two cards, I have used Lost in the City stamp and co-ordinating die.

I love this stamp set. I decided to do little surgery with the die cut to give it a different look. I stamped, water colored and diecut a panel. I carefully cut out few buildings with a paper cutter and a metal ruler. I used 3d foam dots to mount the die cut panel on a ink blended back ground panel to give a little dimension to the scene. 

Just for fun, I even backed the windows with clear acetate and light beige card stock. Can you see it? It actually looks like window glass.

Second card has 2 layers of embossed cityscape.  Check it out.

For first layer, I stamped the buildings on a beige panel with versamark and embossed in gold. I also added few touches of color with tombow markers. Second layer was made by stamping, white embossing and die cutting a blue card stock. I selectively cut out few buildings and mounted the blue panel on beige with help of foam dots. 

Next are 2 tags made with Classic Tags with Fillable Elements Die Set  and Indigo Hills pattern paper. 

This die set is so versatile! You can use just tag dies, just fillable elements (the way I used it in second card), and combine both together for numerous possibilities.

I used tag dies to cut the pattern paper and grey and yellow card stock. I added diecut borders on both the tags with fillable elements so the under layer can pick trough it. 

The last one was a last minute thought and made just for fun! It is a tea light luminary.

I took a 12”x 4 inch cardstock, scored at 3,6 and 9 inches. Use the fillable element from the tag die set to cut all 4 sides. The die is very detailed but it is deeply etched so it cut every detail in one go without shim. It is truly impressive!

I blended blue print sketch distress oxide for double tone look. Line up the cut sides with vellum, join both the ends with a thin strip of cardstock from inside and your instant decoration is ready.

Too bee or not to bee 2019

Hello Friends,

Today, we are celebrating 2nd World Bee day with a blog hop which is organized by Milka Gubo. The main purpose of the hop is to spread awareness of the significance of bees for our survival. You can find a lot of educational information on official World Bee Day pages, here: https://www.worldbeeday.org/en/

Here is my card

We all know that bees are the most hard working insects. A bee visits 50 to 100 flowers per trip to take nectar and pollen to the hive. Apart from making honey they work as nursemaids, caretakers, cleaners, honeycomb builders, nectar ripeners, pollen packers and hive repairers. When they are older, they will begin the public work of collecting water, pollen, nectar and propolis , then working with the house bees to appropriately store and utilize their goods. 

So, the sentiment on my card suggests what we can learn from this incredible insect. I have used alcohol inks on yupo to make hexagons in the background. Here is the close up.

Penny Black : Perspective stamp and die

Hello Friends,

After a long time I made few cards just because I loved the stamp set so much that I couldn't stop myself making all of them at once. The set is Perspective by Penny Black (and glasses die too) . It is a mix of some wonderful sentiments and I tried to use them as creatively as I could.

Lets start with first card.

Honestly, I bought the set for this one single sentiment. It is all about perspective... as Dr . Dyre said...If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. The Card design is very simple. I have used their glasses die too to cut the specs. I kept the clouds grey except the one which are showing through specs to show the change in perspective.

For second card I had to use this owl stamp by MFT because it is super adorable. I may add googly eyes or tiny hearts inside the small specs.  

I have stamped owl on pattern paper and added little bit of shading with copics.  

I have used bunch of different brand stamps for this card. Geometric background is by MFT, text background on panel is by Heroarts and fox and greenery is by Pinkfresh Studio.

I cut through both the layers - card base & panel with glasses die. 

The inside of card which is visible thru glasses. Interesting...isn't it?

For the next card, I again used MFT set for focal point with neat & tangled background die.

I used these make-up brushes to blend oxide inks for the back drop.  As the backdrop is colorful, I decided to keep images very subtle. 

The next card I made for my Ophthalmologist. It was so fun. 

Again, I used multiple stamps and dies to create background layers.

Last card uses just Magnifying glass from the stamp set.

Sentiment is computer generated which goes well with this mama elephant set.
