Hello friends,
I am sharing a fun slider card which I made for my DT post for Jane's blog. I have used Life is Good & Seamus stampset and hearts from various other sets.
I love the Life is good stampset. It is so versatile. I made a little garden in a jar using it before...you can check it HERE!
And, here is today's card!
Here is the video to see the sliding hearts.
I wanted to give that transparent effect to the jar so I have use acetate .
Here is the step by step pictorial.
Take 2 white card stock (bielo) panels measuring 4.5 X 6.5 inches and a 4x3.5 inches piece of acetate.
Stamp the jar using MISTI in exact same position on both the panel with memento tuxedo black ink. On acetate stamp the jar with archival - jet black ink.
Cut out a window (inner part of jar) form second panel.
Cut the slider channel using MFT's surf and turf die . Adhere the acetate on the back of the second panel (with window) . Aline well so the outline of jar matches the one on acetate. Now cut the channel in same place on acetate too.
Now comes the slider part. You need some kind of thick disc like this one by MFT . But unfortunately, It was always out of stock whenever I ordered from MFT.
My crafting buddy Paru Mahtani sent me these wooden beads to use for the same purpose. You can check her blog HERE! She is an amazing crafter and a kind soul!
They are so lightweight and easy to glue and best part is they are very affordable. I am so thankful to her. To make sliding element, take a slightly wider circle die cut than the channel , glue the bead on it,insert the beads from the back into the channel, glue the hearts on beads.
Stamp various hearts in the jar ( on first panel) and in a corner of second panel with matching inks as your heart diecuts. Glue the second panel on top of first using foam tape to give space for hearts to slide.
Added some golden splatter, sentiment and metal embellishment to finish off the card.
That is all for today! Hope you will enjoy the process and tips. See you soon!
Awesome . I love it!!
