Last post of 2015

Hello friends,

I am really sorry that I am not being around here lately.  Today, I am here with the last post of 2015.

I love Tim Holtz - Crazy Bird stamp set. There is something about those birds. Recently, I got the coordinating dies too so I made this series of quirky cards with it. I love mixing sentiments and images from different brands to stretch the designing possibilities of cards. So  I pulled out all the sentiment stamps which I felt will go with them. The funny thing is they seem so perfect as if they were made for these birds only. They really accentuate the quirky expressions of birds.

I have used MFT, Verve stamps and PTI for sentiments.
Birds are water coloured with peerless water colours.

Now, I am looking for another sentiments which goes with them. Hope you will like them too.

May you get all the happiness of the world in coming new year!
Thank you for stopping by!

Jane's Doodles - Rain or shine

Hello Friends,

I hope you all are doing good and enjoying the winter weather. But my friends in Chennai are having rough time. They were hit by the highest rainfall of the century! The whole city just submerged for days. Water logging and intermittent episodes of more rain is adding to their agony.

Today's card is for all my Chennai friends who need little sunshine right now! Sending them lots of love and prayers and wishing them blue skies and sunny days!

I have used Jane's Doodles new release stamp Rain or Shine !

I took a panel of sky blue card stock. I stamped it with text background and applied gesso randomly to soften the colour and text and allow it to merge in background. I also stamped fence form Jane's Double Trouble set. I die-cut clouds with PTI die and mount the panel with foam tape to give dimension. I adhere those sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh  to create a faux shaker look.
( I have a confession - till now I was being cheap an using locally available sequins. But a month back I got a chance to buy these PPP sequins and boy oh boy... how sparkly they are! They immediately lift your card a notch higher! Love it!)
The images are coloured with copic, sun and umbrella are fussy cut, sending is from Simonsays stamp and sunshine is PTI die.

That's all for today! I will be back with something other than card...:) ! Stay tuned and keep crafting!

Hugs!

Jane's Doodles New sets and Blog Hop

Hey there,

It is new release time at Jane's Doodles . We are releasing two new stamp sets.

First one is Rain or Shine

Love the versatility of the set. You can mix and match sentiment with different motif to create cards for different occasions.

See what I made with it!

Background is made with distress inks and all the elements are fussy cut. Added some clear bling and that adorable sentiment to finish it off!

This is a tag. It is coloured with copics.

The second set is Ahoy!

These are the cutest pirates I have ever seen. Love that quirky sentiment too ...:)!

And here come the cards.

I don't know if you know that or not but I go higgledy-piggledy when it comes to pattern papers. My brain simply stops working the moment I decide to use pattern paper.  I love them but fear them too! But today I challenged myself and pulled out my tiny stash and made this card. I think those stripes and anchor goes well with focal images.

I had fun making this. I wanted to create a cartoon strip look for this card and all those images were just perfect for it!

There is a generous give away... Jane is giving two stamp set to one  lucky winner (winner's choice) . So, please visit all the DT member's blogs and comment for your chance to win!

That is all for today! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs!

Altenew - Magnolia

Hey friends,

How are you all? I am back with a card I made for a friend. I recently got this Altenew - Magnolia stamp. I loved it from the time they released but resisting buying it! But finally, I gave up and got this and painted flower sets.

I am loving the combination of water color & black and white geometric pattern. No matter how hard I try, I end up adding black and white border to my water color cards. Here I have used polka dot paper for the contrast. I have used peerless water colors for the magnolias.

That's all for today!  Hope you will like it and don't forget to leave a comment. Thank you for stopping by.

Paint it Pink!

Hello Friends,

Today, I am sharing a card which was inspired by Chaitali's post HERE! She lost her mom recently to the breast cancer. She started this hop ( i am not a part of hop but couldn't help myself) to spread awareness about the importance of early detection of BC to cure it!

This post really touched my heart as my own mom is a BC survivor.  It's been 8 years since she is cancer free! Being a daughter that put me at higher risk of having BC myself. I am undergoing check up regularly and I urge you all to do the same. I have seen her pain and agony. There were days when she won't even get up from bed. I myself have shaved her head after second chemo with a hope that her hair will grow back. And they did! Her BC was detected in early stage so we could fight it off. She is a strong woman, her faith and positive attitude did miracle. I am so proud of her and I hope to inherit the same spirit and attitude towards life.

So, I dedicate this card to my mom and all the women fighting BC. Keep fighting, never give up because as Dr. Seuss said "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem."

I have used Verve stamps for sentiment and peerless water colours for background!. This design is influenced by Amy's card HERE!

Chaitali is also an illustrator for Verve Stamps and she has designed beautiful sets with superb sentiments HERE and HERE!

That is all for today. Take good care of yourself. Hugs!

Read it all! - Jane's Doodles

Hello Friends,

For last two posts I made Christmas cards with Jane's  stamps, so this time thought of doing something different. I love the versatility of  these dogs and cats stamp sets.

For sentiment I have used Read all about it. Images are colored with copics. I added googly eyes and die cut spects to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting my space.
