Hello Friends,
I made a card to celebrate Indian scientist's efforts for their latest unmanned lunar mission Chandrayan-2 developed by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) .
We are celebrating World Space Week (WSW), an international celebration
of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the
human condition. The UN declared in 1999 that WSW will be held each year from
October 4 – 10.
Find out more on the official WSW page. (http://www.worldspaceweek.org/)
The theme of WSW 2019
is: " The Moon: Gateway to
the Stars."
This blog hop is a part of WSW 2019 celebration and is listed as an
event on an official WSW 2019 event list (event no 27855).
I made a card to celebrate Indian scientist's efforts for their latest unmanned lunar mission Chandrayan-2 developed by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) .
Chandrayaan-2 mission was a highly complex mission, which comprised an Orbiter, Lander and Rover to explore the unexplored South Pole of the Moon. The mission was designed to expand the lunar scientific knowledge through detailed study of topography, seismography, mineral identification and distribution, surface chemical composition, thermo-physical characteristics of top soil and composition of the tenuous lunar atmosphere, leading to a new understanding of the origin and evolution of the Moon.
However, the lander deviated from its intended trajectory and had lost communication when touchdown confirmation was expected, the orbiter, part of the mission with eight scientific instruments, remains operational and is expected to continue its seven-year mission to study the Moon.
The destination is not the only thing that matters but the journey and efforts teach us many things as well! Our dreams are bigger than any successes or failures.
I love the quote "Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." . I have designed my card using that quote to give tribute to all the efforts and hard work put by scientists of ISRO! We are proud of them!
