Hello Friends,
I am so proud to be part of this blog hop - to bee or not to bee. Yes! our purpose is to spread awareness about bees and their role in apicultural products. Also to support initiation of the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association that the May 20th is declared World Bee Day by the United Nations (UN).
Bees are some of the hardest working creatures on the planet, and because of their laborious work ethic, we owe many thanks to this amazing yet often under appreciated insect.
Our lives – and the world as a whole – would be a much different place if bees didn’t exist. To illustrate this fact, consider these numbers: bees are responsible for pollinating about one-sixth of the flowering plant species worldwide and approximately 400 different agricultural types of plant.
It is sad that their colonies are declining. We really have to be aware how and why this is happening.
HERE is an interesting video I came across from TED talk.
Few things we can do to help bees' sustainability
* Plant flowering plants if you can.
* Avoid the use of pesticides.
* Whenever possible, choose native plants. Native plants will attract more native pollinators.

The world is full of wanna-bees. What if we just bee ourselves? Don't you think life would be much easier and more beautiful that way? The other message I was trying to give through this card is how our ever expanding cityscape is engulfing the natural habitats of bees. I hope I manged to do so.

ReplyDeleteBuzzing and humming with delight in seeing your "honey' of a bee card that is 110% successful in conveying your messages! The protections of bees is such a worthwhile cause to support, as is ensuring that 'we' are 'bee-ing' true to ourselves in whatever we do.
