I Love Math Challenge #17

Hello Friends,

It is time for another Math challenge. Now on, all the challenges will run for 2 months so you all will have enough time to get inspired and play. This challenge is set by Ċ½eljka.

Math: Nine
Design: Card
Theme: Nature
Additional info:
Create a nature themed card using 9 elements (same or different) on your card. If you are using a sentiment, it’s counting as one element. Words are not counted separately.
Challenge starts: August 30th, 2020, 10:00 PM CEST (UTC +2)
Challenge ends: October 30th, 2020, 9:55 PM CEST (UTC +2)

Initially, I thought of creating a scene card but decided to do abstract in the end. When I was going through all the possible stamps I can use for it, the sentiment from an old SSS stamp jumped out at me.

"Adopt the pace of nature : her secret is patience ."

It is a beautiful quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I decided to use various elements of nature  from different stamps . To accommodate all the elements, I went with slimline card. It is 3.5* 8.25 inches.

9 elements are sea, earth, wind, fire, wood, snow, thunder, sun and sentiment.

Instead of plain background,
I used similar dies to provide some texture and relevant backdrop.

I hope you like my take on the challenge.
One winner will get one stamp set of Jane's Doodles.
Please visit Milka's blog HERE for more information on rules and details!

Thank you for being here. Have a wonderful day!

Itsy Bitsy Guest post- Postal Special

Hi there,

How have you been? Honestly, I am bored and frustrated with all this covid thing and uncertainties caused by it. I am waiting to get everything normal again but then they say we have to redefine the 'normal' as things are not going to be the same ever. There is only one thing which is keeping me sane is my crafting. I am experimenting with all kinds of mediums and arts but card-making will be my forever love. And I am glad that it is not going to change . Ever!

Today, I am sharing two cards made from a single stamp set. They are perfect examples how you can use same stamps and achieve different looks. I have used Postal Special stamp set.

Let's check the first card.

I have used same stamps to create background border on card, on envelope flap and to emboss on paper and used them as embellishments.

I masked the bottom part of the card front and stamp different postal marks with Little Birdie Pigment Inks . I have use second generation stamping as I wanted faded look for background. Please check my previous post HERE to learn the technique and to know more about these inks.

I added little bit of shadint with walnut stain distress ink.

Check the deckled edge it created.

Next, I stamped same stamps with same  inks on colored card stock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Sentiment is stamped using versamark ink and embossed with white powder.

Arrange them in a cluster and mount them with foam tape for dimension.

I also stamped on envelop flap with tea dye distress ink and made an embossed seal using Handmade With Love stamp.

For the second card I combined the set with various die cuts to create an effective design.

I used one of the stamp from set with wings and embossed it twice on beige card stock. Fussy cut it to make wings beneath the heart. I used various postmark with a grey ink to stamp background on a light grey card base. I also used various dies from my stash to complete the look.

I used these wax beads and a heart stamp to create seal on the envelope. Yes, you can use little birdie stamps to make your customized seals.

That is all for today! I hope you enjoyed the process. Thinking out side of the box is the key to unique creativity. Keep crafting and stay safe!
Have a great day! Hugs!

Jane's Doodles blog hop- June 2020

Hi there,

How are you, friends? I hope you all are safe and healthy! I am here to share two cards made with newly released stamp sets Hydrangea & Home!

Hydrangea - NEW           Home - NEW!

Due to lockdown in India, I opted for digital version of stamps so there may be little size variation in my images.

I printed Hydrangea on water color paper and used water color pencils to color them.

I really had fun coloring this flower. I blew it up little bit before printing though!

Second set has images of old, Victorian houses. I googled few images for color inspiration and finally decided to use copics to color them.

I loved it! Fussy cutting was easy too...:P !

I hope you like  the cards.

All stamps are 30% off till Wednesday. There will be one lucky winner who can get one, free  stamp set of her choice.

Here is the hop list

Blog hop - Jane's doodles

Hello friends,

How are you all doing? We all are going through some really tough time. We have total lock-down for 3 weeks. We are half way there. While I try to create and keep myself occupied, that feeling of uncertainty is always there at the back of mind. I simply can't concentrate in this new norm. Let's hope we get back to our routine pretty soon.

Let's try to cheer ourselves up. We @jane's doodles have a blog hop for you. There are 2 new stamp sets Tulips & Spring Icons, released recently. I love the idea of Tulips set. The flowers, stem and leaves are separate stamps which gives you flexibility to make your own bouquet bu masking and stamping.

Tulips     Spring Icons

I have used Tulip set for today's card. I stamped multiple of each images on water color card stock with light ink as I was going for no line water coloring. I used Mission Gold water colors and faber castell pencils for adding details. It took me a while to build those layers but the result is worth the efforts. I fussy cut all the images and arranged them on a ink blended panel.

Sentiment is from Doodle Butterflies. I finished it off by adding few clear dew drops.

I hope my card could cheer you up!

Please check out all the blogs and leave comment on each one for you chance to win a stamp set of your choice. The winner will be announced on Friday! All the stamps are 30% off till Friday.

Honey Bee Stamps - Car Show

Hello friends,

After a long time I am sharing a post here. Now a days, Instagram and FB works faster than blog posts. But the cards I made form these sets need a spotlight. I want to make it a practice where you make all the possible designs you can think of in one go. I did one such post with Penny Black stamp. You can check it HERE.

I love this stamp sets by Honey Bee stamp - car show & You're a classic and a stencil Flames. These products coordinate beautifully and works well for masculine cards for which we all struggle a lot.
So, lets start with the cards.

First card is inspired by a vintage car poster

Image result for vintage car posters

I masked the bottom part of the light beige card and used sun ray stencil by mft to ink and clear emboss the rays in brick red distress oxide. I flipped the stencil to ink the mirror image of rays in light beige ink. I stamped, color and fussy cut car. I did light beige copic shading (matching to the card stock) and stenciled sun rays on the glass window of the car to make it look transparent. Finally, i stamped the sentiment using archival ink as i was stamping on clear embossed parts. I just love how it turned out .

Next card is comparatively simple but i had fun putting all those elements together.

I used an old postcard and travelling journal card print from DCWV maps & ledger stack. I made a back drop with them for a blue vintage car. I also added postal stamps and sliver of map print for the ground from the same stack. Very happy with the layout. What do you think?

Next card uses the magnificent stencil.

I use different altenew inks to stencil on white card stock. Car is colored with copics. Added a golden frame to panel.

Last one is ditto like Kelly Latevola's video HERE

I used different altenew inks to stamp and color images. Sentiment is from Avery Elle set. Honestly, I was nerves on how to use these stamps as I have never worked with this theme before. So I watched her video and made this first card which was kind of ice breaker for me.

I hope you like the cards. Hopefully, i will be back soon yet again with one more theme and honey bee stamps.
Thank you so much for being here. Have a wonderful day!
