Birthday Hugs

Hi Friends,

Lately, I am super busy with workshops and custom orders and not getting enough time to create something without any reason. That bugs me a lot. Long list of orders is good for pocket but I feel, it kills the soul of creativity. Hopefully it will be over soon!

Today, I am sharing a card which I made using PTI products. I bought this - Peonies On Parade set along with dies, long back but inked it for the first time. I have embossed them in gold and colored with mission gold water colors!

For the background, I have used embossing paste through MFT stencil. Sentiment is also from PTI. Added a strip of hand torn and embossed velum to soften the big bold black stripe. Those clear drops from PTI are so sparkly....:) Can't have them enough!

I am entering this card for Darnell's NBUS #7

Are you playing along? If you are new to the challenge, check it out. It is the most fun challenge!
Signing off with that ....Have a wonderful day!

Coffee Time

Hey friends,

Today, I am sharing a card I made for Jane's DT post. I have used one of my favorite stamp set Coffee Time. Lately, I am collecting all the tea & coffee sets. Looks like I got addicted to them...;) .

I stamped and masked and stamped images with archival black ink and colored with peerless water colors.

Check the hand made mask through which I stamped that mesh background in Delicata gold pigment ink. The best golden ink I have used ever.

Coffee beans were embossed in gold ,colored with instant coffee decoction and fussy cut. I also painted the shadow beneath percolator and saucer with the same liquid. So the card smells good too...:). Actually, wanted to mix instant coffee with clear embossing powder and emboss with it. But the weather is very humid so coffee powder turned in to a lumps while i was mixing it with embossing powder. Have to try with ground beans ...:)

That is all for today! Have a great day!

Jane's DT post

Hey Friends,

It is Jane's Doodles DT post time again.

During my last visit to US I saw this Hero Arts - wood mounted sentiment stamp in Joaan and I knew it will go very well with Jane's lovely stamp set Dogs. As you all know, I love to mix and match sentiments and images from different sets & brands. So, here I go ...

I colored the dogs with copics. Polaroid frames and background stamp is from MFT.
Love love love that hero arts sentiment...:)

See you soon... ! Hugs.

Masculine Card

Hello Friends,

I made today's card for a friend. She requested one for her husband who turned 50! And I took this opportunity to use my new PTI stamp set - Road Signed ! When they released this set, i knew I wanted it. I always struggle for masculine cards and this has quite masculine feel as well as excellent play on words. I love this set as it can be used for multiple occasions and for any age. I also got this Number set which co-ordinates with signs.

Isn't that fun?
I wanted the tone of card very positive & fun. I wanted to enhance  the beautiful journey which stats after 50. For that , I added few printed sentiments so that all the signs will sing a chorus. For example, I added enjoy the detour under 'stop' , printed 'hesitate to' in between 'do not enter' and it was road to success which I changed  to road to happiness. This is what I love about a product-vesatility. Had a tough time arranging all of them but love the end result.

My friend's son who is a wanna be chef and an intern at very prestigious hotel in San Francisco. I knew he was not going to be there for his dad's birthday so I made one more card on behalf of him using my MFT stamp set -Recipe for  Happiness - a perfect match.

I have used copics for coloring and spellbinder embossing folder for background.

I had a blast making these two beauties. Hope you will like them too.

Thanks for visiting.

Roses all over!

Hi Friends,

I am here to share a card I made using My Favorite things - Background stamp - Roses all over. I wanted this stamp since very long but it was out of stock everywhere. And then I found it on Butterflyreflectionsink.3dcartstores.com while I was placing order for other stuff. I love, love, love their collection - a great mix of products. They keep all the latest releases of major brands and offer discounts quite often.  And super sweet Vanessa & her customer service is a bonus....:) !

So here is the card.

I have embossed the background in gold and colored with mission gold water colors. Sentiment die is by PTI. Both the white panes are mounted on craft foam to give dimension. Added some splatter to tie the whole look.

Close Up:

Hope you like it. Have a great weekend. See you soon with two more cards which I just finished...:)

Trying New Mediums - Jane's DT

Hey there,

How are you all!
Today, I am sharing two cards. I have used same floral stamp for both the cards. I wanted to try my new mediums- Faber Castell Polychromos pencils and Mission Gold Water Colors. And I find Jane's Doodles Pretty Peonies set a perfect fit to practice colouring.

First card is with pencils.

I am not an experienced person to review the pencils but I am loving these. They are oil base so you can build layers with them which is an experience in itself. The intensity of pigments you can lay on the paper varies with the sharpness of the lead, the angle at you hold the pencil & the pressure you apply to it.  I have used three yellows on a dark grey card stock. Yes, it takes a long time and patience but it pays in the end...:). I am planning to take some online classes to learn more about it.
I have used MISTI to stamp two exactly identical panels - light oan dark grey. I die cut the dark panel, coloured it with pencils, aligned and mounted it on the light panel with foam adhesive.

For second card, I have use Mission Gold Water colors.

I love distress inks and koi water colors as a water-based mediums but always wanted to try traditional artist water colors and knowing that my son gifted me these on mother's day ...:)! What can I say...they are amazing( my son & colors both)!
The colors are rich and stays vibrant even after drying. They are very creamy which makes blending very easy. They are very concentrated too so these 15ml tubes will go for years.  Again, I have a long way to go but happy to be well equipped!

I hope you will like my new experiments! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I would love your feedback.
