Coffee and friends

Hi friends,
Today's, card is for a sweet friend who is  a big coffee lover and my sole inspiration for all my coffee cards. She is the one who started this hop which is becoming a huge hit. Yes, cheers to Amy!  During my last visit to Seattle, I had a chance to meet her. She took me to a craft store and later on we had a coffee together! I had amazing time which I will cherish through out my life. All of it feels so surreal....So this card is for those sweet memories.

I got this Seattle Needle die form Impress Rubber Stamps which I visited with her. City scape die is by mama elephant, sentiment and coffee cups are by Neat & Tangled .

Thank you, Amy for those memories! I hope you will like the card.
Hugs!

Here is my card.

I am really happy how this card came along! What do you think?

Please let me know in the comment ...:) Thanks for being here. Hugs!

Dragonfly wishes

I am sharing two cards which I made using the stamp sets by Crafter's Companion called Flying Dragonflies and Wishes set by Pink & Main . Both are Mini hence pocket friendly & I have showcased how easily you can create different looking cards with the same stamps. Flying dragon flies is a single red rubber stamp. I trimmed it and separated both dragonflies for the ease of stamping. Do not afraid to cut your stamps, just be careful while doing so.

For the first card, I stamped the sentiment on Tim Holtz Water color card stock  using Black archival ink and Dragonflies with coffee archival ink. I used archival inks as they are water proof. Colored each dragonfly with different shades of distress inks. I mounted the water color card panel on 4.25x5.5inches top folded card.

For the second card, I embossed the large dragon fly on Let'z craft vellum using versamark & Ranger white embossing powder. I fussy cut the fly and used green copic on the back of the wings to give little bit of color.

I used  moss green card stock for the base on which I splattered some papericious white chalk paint . I love to use chalk paints for splatters on cs as they are quite thick and opaque. I also use a small, wonky panel of gaza grey cs. Initially i stamped large wishes stamp from pink & main set in grey on this panel but after a while the stamping became invisible as i had used very light ink so I stamped it using black archival ink across the panel. I also embossed small birthday from the same set on a stripe of white cs.

So it is easy to create two totally different looking cards using the same stamps if you think and plan. While shopping for supplies, always look for the versatility of stamps, how many ways you can use it, how it goes with your existing supply etc. That way you can get the maximum worth of your money! Be smart, save some & create more...:)
Happy Crafting, gals! See you soon!

Coffee Buzz

Hi Friends,

Today is first day of Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop. Needless to say, I am super excited. I hope I can play all the days. Let's see how it goes.
Here is my card

I have tried color blocking kind of technique to make this card. Stamps are Jane's doodles and sentiment is from Lil Inker Design. I make all 4 masks from post it note. and one large mask for single square. First, I stamped the cup image in one square, mask it and put square negative mask around it and blend distress oxide over it. Repeat the same process for all 4 squares.  I love the summery colors on this one.

Thank you for being here. Hope you like my card!

You are SWEET

Hello friends,

Today, I am sharing a card made for Jane's Doodles blog. It was inspired by a cookery show I was watching while eating watermelon...:P . The summer is really getting worst every year where I live. Temperature is soaring  47 degree centigrade during day time. Nights are very warm too. So we eat lots of fresh fruits specially water melons to keep us hydrated as well as to avoid craving for ice cream at night!

I was watching some cookery show where the contestant made deconstructed dessert, so I combined the idea of deconstructed dessert and watermelon to make this card.

I simply die cut a panel from water color card stock and painted it using mission gold water colors. Stamped the water melon Popsicle stamp from Cool set & fussy cut just the melon part. For the border I used outline rain drop stamp from Rain Or Shine set and just filled it with black scribbled lines. I also applied wink of stella shimmer on slices of water melon which is not visible though.

Hope you like my idea! Thanks for being here. Happy crafting!

To bee or not to bee

Hello Friend,

I am so excited to be part of this amazing blog hop initiative - 'To Bee or not to Bee'  by Milka in honor of The World Bee Day to celebrate 1st World Bee Day, to support bees and to raise public awareness of the importance of bees and apicultural products.

Let's see why we are celebrating Bee day.

Bees are some of the hardest working creatures on the planet, and because of their laborious work ethic, we owe many thanks to this amazing yet often under appreciated insect. A third of the world’s food production depends on bees, i.e. every third spoonful of food depends on pollination.

Over the past 50 years, the amount of crops that depend on pollinators (i.e. fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts and oilseeds) has tripled. Bees play an important role in relation to the scope of agricultural production. Effective pollination increases the amount of agricultural produce, improves their quality and enhances plants’ resistance to pests.

Cultivated plants that depend on pollination are an important source of income to farmers, especially smaller farmers and family-owned farms in developing countries. They provide jobs and income to millions of people.

But of late, Bees have become increasingly endangered. There are various factors affecting their population such as  viral or mite infection of bees, use of pesticides, pollution, urbanization etc. Needless to say this poses a great threat to global agriculture. Recently,  United Nations (UN) officially declared May 20th a World Bee Day.

There are many artist around the world joining this hop and there are I think 17 or 18 prizes to win including one sponsored by me...:).

First, let's see the card I made.

Bees are around for  thousands of years. Yes, it is true...they have evolved quite a lot to survive but now they need our help so let's make the Bees strong again...:)

You are wonderful!

Hello there,

Today, I am on Jane's Doodles blog with this card. I have used Magnolia from her latest release. These are just gorgeous flowers and no wonder they are sold out right now but she is taking preorders for the same. So book yours if you haven't done that already.

In my recent visit to Seattle, we went to see the cherry blossom at University of Washington Arboretum. Along with cherry blossom, there were plenty of magnolias too! The tree is so elegant and magnificent , it just stands there in all its splendor with all those delicate blooms. The pictures don't do justice at all but they were the inspiration for my today's card!

I have used kraft card stock as base and for the flowers as well. Flowers are heat embossed in white on kraft, colored using copics and white prisma color pencil. The branch die is by memory box. I finished it of with some white splatter and few enamel dots.

Love how it turned out! Hope you love it too! Thanks for being here.

Better late than never : A belated birthday card

Hello friend ,

I made this card for Jane's Blog.

I used MFT die to cut the window from a pattern paper from PTI. I think the die's stitched detail and black out lines on panel goes well together.  Ink blended the backdrop with oxides and stamped some grass. Stamped sentiment before mounting panel using foam tape. Turtle, cake and party hat is colored with copics. Here is the closeup.

Hope you like it! Thanks & Hugs!
