Mix and match

Hey friends,

I have made a card using my recent supply. You might be knowing that there is usually a particular trend all the stamp  companies follow. Most of the companies will have a common theme in their new release, be it pandas, elephants, cool penguins  or even chevrons, speech bubbles and layered stamps.
If I like one theme, I like to repeat the same in stamps, dies & embossing folders when ever possible.
The latest trend of diamonds, shine and sparkle is my favourite one. I bought Wplus9 , Winne-Walter & Ellenhutson stamps, Winne-Walter cover-plate die, Diamond die by Ellenhutson & the most gorgeous We r memory keepers embossing folders. I love to mix and match supply from different brands to make the theme of my card more effective.

I haven't been able to capture the embossed effect but it is gorgeous! It is three dimensional and cast shadows which gives beautiful faceted effect. And that diamond die is just awesome.

The other version I created a while back

That's all for today. Keep crafting!

Hugs!

NBUS #5

Hi Friends,

Today's card is made specially for Darnell's  NBUS (Never before used schtuff) Challange # 5.

She is the sweetest crafter I have ever known and a gem of a person. I love to read her posts. So here is to you Darnell.

My NBUS is that bricks embossing folder by spellbinder. I don't even remember when I bought it. Bulb die is by MFT, word die is by PTI and stitched rectangle is by SSS. I inked the embossing folder lightly before running through Big Shot to define the grout.

Hope you will like my card. Hugs.

Peerless water colours

Hi friends,

Recently I bought these pretty pretty Peerless water colours. They are transperent and very vibrant. They comes in form of dry sheet which looks like coloured paper swatches. They are very concentrated so you just need tiny bit of it.

I went ahead and stick them on folded 300 gsm water colour paper and made a small booklet for easy use.

I also did some simple swatch below each colours. This is really required as you can see the pigments on sheets are very concentrated and  look very different from actual colours.

And here is the card I made with it.

When ever it comes to colouring images, I prefer Jane's Doodles stamps as their out lines are quite thick and have very nice sentiments too. As it was my first try with these colours, I went for single colours only. They blend effortlessly. I embossed the flowers in white, wet them with water, drop little bit of pigments in wet are and allow it to spread along with water. It is super easy and results are just fabulous.

See you soon with more colour blending experiments.
